Wicker Park and Bucktown are easily reached by car. The Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) leads right to our doorstep, and the following exits serve our district: Division Street, North Avenue, Armitage Avenue, Damen Avenue, and Fullerton Avenue. Bicycle
Wicker Park and Bucktown are quite possibly the best urban neighborhoods for biking in Chicago, if not the entire country. We have a great supply of bike racks and we are continually adding options and amenities. During the summer months look for our on-street bike parking racks. Thanks to generous funding from the WPB SSA #33, dozens of bright orange “WPB Rides” bike racks supplement standard black City of Chicago bike racks throughout the neighborhood's business districts.
Milwaukee Avenue (a.k.a The Hipster Highway) has the busiest bike lane in the city. Other popular bike lanes in WPB include (but are not limited to): Cortland Street, Damen Avenue, Division Street, Elston Avenue, and Armitage Avenue.
The best part of biking in Wicker Park and Bucktown is The 606, referred to by many locals as the Bloomingdale Trail. Opened to the public in 2015, this former elevated railroad right-of-way was converted into a beautiful linear park with a brand new modern bike path, artwork, and cutting-edge amenities. Whether you're looking for a casual stroll or a new route to work, The 606 is undoubtedly the best east-west bike route in Chicago.
