Join us for a special Business CAPS meeting to discuss The Safe Passage Program, which involves a partnership between community institutions, businesses and schools to provide a safe haven for any child walking to and from school or throughout the community. If a child is approached by a stranger or becomes alarmed for any reason, they can find refuge in any ‘Safe Haven’ establishment that displays a ‘Safe Haven’ sign in their window. Come join us for this informational meeting and get to know the officers of the 14th District.

The Nelson Algren Committee hosts the 21st annual birthday celebration honoring Chicago author Nelson Algren and community activists and artists who work in the Nelson Algren spirit.
Noted film makers, authors and other inspired Nelson Algren enthusiasts will be present to discuss their own work and artifacts from the Nelson Algren Archive will be displayed.
